With the start of the 2019-2020 club year right around the corner, the club will be making some changes to our schedule and timetable. The changes are,
- the start time of the weekly Saturday showings will be at 6:00pm.
- the rotating schedules are being discontinued.
There are a few other changes, but they will not impact the weekly showings.
We are going to start the 2019-2020 club year on Saturday, September 14th.

Kerry will be at the club events on August 17th and 18th. These will be his final club events before he leaves the city.

On Thursday, July 18th at 10:30am JST, Kyoto Animation suffered a fire that engulfed the first studio building. The fire was put out later that day. There have been 33 confirmed dead and dozens injured. No official announcements have been made at this time as to the identities of the dead and injured.

June Club Dinner: Candy Memories, Normal Daily Life, and Rays
The Club Dinner: June Edition returns this month. On this month’s Club Dinner:
After somehow surviving Christmas and winter, candy bucket Dave was granted a reprieve by a rather cheesed off Easter Bunny. He did not seem happy with the competition of leaving candy around. After being transformed back, Dave is singing Charlie and Chocolate Factory songs.
With Dave’s prolonged absence from Colin-kun’s fan club, the fandom has died down and Colin-kun has resumed a somewhat normal magical life.
Sean2 realizes that his full dive system will need ray tracing.
Will Dave be able to return to a normal life after being a sentient candy bucket? Will anything disrupt Colin-kun normal magical life? Will Sean2 cause another GPU shortage and price hike?
The dinner will be taking place this week, we’ll be headed to sushi on Wednesday then Ribfest on Thursday. If you’d like to attend, please send me an email ASAP.

Summer Marathons
The continuation of the Eden of the East / Higashi no Eden marathon is this Sunday, June 2nd at 5:00pm in River Building (RB) 2200, directions to the room here. We’ll be showing the two movies from the series.
June Club Dinner: Candy Memories, Normal Daily Life, and Rays
The Club Dinner: June Edition returns this month. On this month’s Club Dinner:
After somehow surviving Christmas and winter, candy bucket Dave was granted a reprieve by a rather cheesed off Easter Bunny. He did not seem happy with the competition of leaving candy around. After being transformed back, Dave is singing Charlie and Chocolate Factory songs.
With Dave’s prolonged absence from Colin-kun’s fan club, the fandom has died down and Colin-kun has resumed a somewhat normal magical life.
Sean2 realizes that his full dive system will need ray tracing.
Will Dave be able to return to a normal life after being a sentient candy bucket? Will anything disrupt Colin-kun normal magical life? Will Sean2 cause another GPU shortage and price hike?
The planning stage for the dinner is wrapping up. The dinner will be held later this month. If you’d like to attend, please send me an email.

Starting on March 14th and running for at least a couple days is Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel] II. lost butterfly. It will be playing in a few Cineplex theatres around Ottawa, check the listing for days and times.
Chihayafuru Part 1 (Live Action)
On Thursday, March 14 at 6:15pm is a showing of Chihayafuru Part 1 at the Embassy of Japan. Doors open at 5:45pm and only street parking is available. Admission is free and is first come first served. This film is part of the 2018-2019 Japanese Film Series.

Yesterday was the last showing of the 2018 fall-term. After we finished the Occultic;Nine marathon, we had time for a movie to conclude 2018 with,

The club is now on its only break during the year-round showings. Showings will start back up in early January, an exact date will be posted within the coming weeks.
On Monday, December 17th a number of club members will be going out to dinner to an Indian buffet. If you’d like to attend, send me an email as soon as possible.
This coming Saturday, December 22nd at the Mayfair Theatre, MIRAI will be playing. The film is by Mamoru Hosoda, who directed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006), Summer Wars (2009), Wolf Children (2012), The Boy and the Beast (2015) and others. At time of posting, the Mayfair has not yet posted the time of showing. There will be an email going out to those on the email list to see if anyone wants to meetup for it.

The Club Dinner: October Edition returns this month. On this month’s Club Dinner:
To exact his revenge for the fandom Dave created, Colin-kun has turned Dave into a giant walking pumpkin candy bucket that has an unlimited supply of candy pouring out the top. Candy bucket Dave now has to endure a swarm of people following him wherever he goes trying to eat all the candy.
Having decided that the VR/AR system he was developing isn’t good enough, Sean2 realizes that the only way to go is full cyberization or digitization.
Stephen has become addicted to World of Warcraft and decides to embark on a journey to collect all mounts and pets within the game.
Will Dave be able to survive being transformed into a sentient candy bucket? Will Sean2 get his brain extracted or upload himself? Will Stephen lose track of time playing WoW? Stay tuned to find out.

Club Membership
Membership with the club is free. However, in order to be considered an official member you do need to sign the membership list, which will be available at the showings throughout the club year. You are welcome to attend a few showings without signing up to see if the club is for you.
CUSA Hub
In addition to the above club membership, the Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) has decided to use CUSA Hub. CUSA Hub is supposed to be designed to allow club registration and club management to be handled all digitally. If you have Carleton ID, alumni included, please go through the process and register with the club via CUSA Hub.

Step 2: Once you’re through the quick Hub registration and on the Hub’s homepage, you can either,
Step 2a: Search for Anime@Carleton under the ‘Join a Club/Society’ menu in the upper left under the CUSA Hub logo.
