Welcome!

, Welcome to the Anime@Carleton Club, devoted to the exposure of Japanese animation ('Anime') at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The club is meant to be a medium through which students and the Anime community in Ottawa can share their love of Anime (and their CDs/DVDs ^^). We hold frequent Anime showings, which encourage you to meet people with similar interests. Anyone can participate: from the simply curious, to the Anime-Otaku. You can get involved in the club, or just show up to enjoy the shows.

Since VOTOMS ends this week that means there will be more early free showing time opening up for the August showings, or there has been talk about showing some of the VOTOMS OVAs until the end of summer so if you’d like to watch them or not talk to Sean. Since Aim for the Ace has been skipped on a number of occasions, it will be shown when an episode is ready with the intent to have it finished by the end of August, if it is not it may make its way in the free showing time of the coming year.

This week in the late free showing period there is still plans to continue with Crest of the Stars (3 or 4 episodes), DMC, and the Baccano OVAs. Since we have more free showing time opening up, we are going to start to show some Japanese documentaries in the coming weeks. Since some of our members will not be present this Saturday, the current free showing plans might be put on hold for a week.

See you on Saturday.

July 1st, 2010: Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day!

For Canada Day events happening in Ottawa see the following sites:
National Capital Commission
Ottawa Kiosk

Sean informed me last night at the Strategy Club meeting that since Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari final episode has not yet been released we’re going to be doing Railgun this week instead, so hopefully the final episode of Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari will be released soon. The schedule below has been updated to reflect the change.

Hope you all enjoy Canada Day and its festivities and we’ll see you on Saturday.
